Melanin Production

From the Melanated Man:

Refer to previous post: An Introduction to Melanin

So what exactly is melanin? If you had to put a scientific term on melanin, it would be classified as a dark carbon compound, secreted by the pineal gland. The Pineal gland is a small endocrine (hormone system) gland located behind the third ventricle of the brain. The gland is slightly smaller than a green pea and weighs less than two grams. The stimulation of the pineal gland is crucial to the growth of the nervous system’s cerebrum (thinking part of the brain called gray matter) as well as the ability to produce melanin as mentioned before.

What gives the pineal gland the ability to secrete melanin? SUNLIGHT! NOT ARTIFICIAL LIGHT, which at some point, its harmful effects will be discussed at greater depth. The sun radiates the full of spectrum of light to the retina of the eyes, which is connected to the brain, which activates the pineal gland to produce melanin (*Sungazing anyone?) Melanin is then turned into serotonin and melatonin.

*Serotonin– hormone thought to be active in constricting smooth muscles, transmitting impulses between nerve cells, regulating cyclic body processes and CONTRIBUTING TO WELLBEING AND HAPPINESS.

*Melatonin- hormone that is known to regulating your body’s circadian rhythm, along with many other wonderful benefits.

If sunlight is important to melanin production, and black people have the highest concentration of melanin among all types of people on the planet, then what does that say about us?

WE ARE THE MOST NATURAL PEOPLE ON THE PLANET!!!

The amount of sunlight we receive not only as children but as adults is CRUCIAL. You are like a flower or any other green plant, in need of chlorophyll (melanin) to survive. Plants need SUNLIGHT and that’s it. *Same thing with black-melanated people.

But…

We don’t get that much sunlight, especially in this day age and age. We are afraid to get out in the sun, not realizing it is to our benefit. We are too CIVILIZED and MODERN to take advantage of what the Creator has given us. I prefer the term colonization. If you are not familiar with that term, I suggest you do a quick Google search. That word should be in your mental vocabulary. But anyway…

This artificial life is killing us. And when I mean artificial I mean:

-*TV

-*Cell phones

-*Computers (which is killing as I type!)

-*DEAD food (that is processed, refined, DENATURED!)

-*Cars

-*Sunglasses

-*Video games

-*Noise pollution

-*Fluorescent lights

…*And so much more!! (All of your artificial light cause *radiation, which we all know kills you.)

All these things affect your melanin production. We are hit with these devices EVERYDAY. But we are civilized. We have been brought from out of the darkness (dark matter=melanin) into the light (artificial light that is!)

Think about it like this: The gorilla can live more than 200 years in the wild without interruption. Take that same gorilla and place him in a zoo or circus, it maybe lives to 60, but that is a stretch. * Is it possible we can live as long as Methuselah, who lived until the ripe age of 969, in the proper environment?

Damn it, we are trapped in a cage. We are VOLUNTARILY killing ourselves to remain civilized. Only difference in being in actual prison is that prisoners are placed there AGAINST their will.  But there’s no difference because I guarantee they get as much sunlight as non-prisoners do, if not more.*

(Hence, besides the fact that of *New Jim Crow prison industrial complex, it makes me wonder that may be the underlying reason why over half of the prison population is black –melanated, and brown skinned. Hmmmm.)

I can go on and on about this. And I will, in future posts. The most important advice you should receive from this post is to get as much sunlight as possible and limit your exposure to the artificial mess to a bare minimum (not at all is asking too much…for now.) And as I end this, I will enjoy myself with my kids outside while we bask in the sunlight, blessed upon us by our Creator. I feel joy just knowing that!

Peace, Love, and Blessings to my Melanated family,

The Melanated Man
