a repost: Proof Surfaces Insurance Co Pays Massive Bonuses to Doctors for Vaccinating Babies

This is some bullshit! I’m not surprised by this, because I figured physicians were getting some sort of kickbacks for pushing the vaccine agenda so hard. The majority of us are not privy to this knowledge, but we need to be. Mannnn…your typical physicians (not all of them lol) are basically paid assassins.

Here is a perfect example of the tactics that Big Pharma uses to incentivize doctors to push vaccines on the public. Insurance company Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) pays pediatricians $400 for EACH fully vaccinated child under the age of 2. This means that for every 100 vaccinated patients, the doctor gets a $40,000 bonus!

Moreover, it is now very difficult to find a pediatrician who will accept a family who doesn’t vaccinate. Even parents who partially vaccinate or follow a different schedule have a hard time finding a doctor. Here’s why: doctors have to vaccinate a certain percentage of their patients or they don’t get their bonus. BCBS says doctors need to vaccinate 63% of their patients to get the payout.

BCBS outlines the incentive program for vaccinating babies in the BCBS doctor incentives booklet. Below is an image of the childhood immunization incentives page.

BCBS incentives for vaccinating babies

The program specifies that patients under the age of 2 must receive 24 inoculations for the doctor to receive the $400 per-patient payout. Notice the list includes the flu vaccine, even though evidence suggests that the flu vaccine actually weakens the immune system long-term. Furthermore, during the 2012-2013 flu season, the flu vaccine’s effectiveness was found to be just 56 percent across all age groups reviewed by the CDC.

Exorbitant Payouts for Vaccinating Babies

So how much money can a doctor make by pushing vaccines on trusting parents? Here’s the breakdown:

The average American pediatrician has 1546 patients, though some pediatricians see many more. The vast majority of those patients are very young, perhaps because children transition to a family physician or stop visiting the doctor at all as they grow up. As they table above explains, Blue Cross Blue Shield pays pediatricians $400 per fully vaccinated child. If your pediatrician has just 100 fully-vaccinated patients turning 2 this year, that’s $40,000. Yes, Blue Cross Blue Shield pays your doctor a $40,000 bonus for fully vaccinating 100 patients under the age of 2. If your doctor manages to fully vaccinate 200 patients, that bonus jumps to $80,000. (source: CongitiveTruths.com)

Doctors Receive Bribes for More Than Vaccinations

The complete BCBS doctor incentives booklet was posted by CognitiveTruths.com here.

The booklet shows that payouts aren’t available just for vaccines. Doctors receive bonuses for making sure that patients “adhere to their prescribed drug therapy.” This falls under BCBS category of “disease management” and includes statins, drugs for hypertension, and oral diabetes medications. Doctors also receive bonuses for helping patients manage depression…but only if they do so using drugs.

These types of practices by the medical establishment give rise to many questions. First, are doctors more concerned about earning their bonus than about children’s health? That would explain why so many doctors are no longer taking families that do not vaccinate. Further, do doctors even care if the one-size-fits-all approach to vaccination is safe?

Finally, if doctors receive payouts for disease management, then why would they want to cure their patients? This approach definitely illustrates the biggest problem of our medical establishment. Let’s face it, the establishment is creating long-term customers instead of curing patients.

We are all immensely grateful that advances in medical treatment mean that people no longer die from easily treatable diseases. Most likely you or someone close to you has had to obtain medical treatment for a serious condition which could have resulted in their death. Indeed, access to healthcare is no longer viewed as a privilege but as a right by modern 21st century people. Two countries that are upheld as examples of free healthcare being made available to every citizen are Canada and the United Kingdom. These countries promise easy access to necessary treatment at no charge. A shocking new report from the conservative think-tank The Fraser Institute, has just revealed, however, that the healthcare system in Canada is imploding, and treatment is anything but “free.” The situation is almost exactly the same in the U.K.

The Daily Caller is reporting that a “typical” Canadian family of four with an annual income of $127,814, will pay around $12,057 for healthcare each year – albeit indirectly; the money is derived from taxes.

Bacchus Barua, senior economist with the Fraser Institute’s Centre for Health Policy Studies, and lead author of the study noted, “Health care in Canada isn’t free—Canadians actually pay a substantial amount for health care through their taxes, even if they don’t pay directly for medical services.”

You might be thinking that even $12,057 a year is acceptable for comprehensive medical treatment, but that’s only half the story. The reality is that many procedures are excluded, and Canadians must provide for their own dental care, eye exams and glasses, and a host of other treatments. A shocking shortage of healthcare providers means a Canadian family can wait years to be accepted by a family practitioner. And, as the Caller noted, those who need either routine or urgent surgery have to wait their turn on a very long waiting list. (Related: Keep up with the latest developments and changes that impact your family at Medicine.news)

Back in 2010, Michael Tennant of The New American noted:

The Canadian healthcare system has been slowly but surely collapsing of its own weight, as all socialist systems eventually do, for years. … What is needed is not more government involvement in the healthcare sector but less.

According to an earlier Natural News article, in the United Kingdom, where the socialist National Healthcare System (NHS) has been collapsing for years, the latest solution is to punish those whose lifestyles put them at increased risk for illness, like smokers and the obese, by denying them necessary surgical procedures to cut back on costs. Instead, they will be referred to a health program for six months – by which time some of them could be dead.

Those with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more will be “offered a referral to either a weight management program or stop smoking service for a six-month period of health optimization before being considered for surgery.”

To add insult to injury, while being denied the coverage to which every U.K. citizen is supposed to be entitled, these patients will still have to continue sacrificing a portion of their earnings to the healthcare system.

While it is, of course, always best to make the necessary lifestyle changes to get to the root causes of serious illnesses like diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease, and nobody should be smoking anymore, this policy just goes to prove that “free” healthcare is never really free, and it is hardly ever available to everybody.

The best course of action is to get your health issues under control now, before you need expensive medical treatment. Maintaining a healthy weight, eliminating processed foods, eating plenty of non-GMO, organic fruits and veggies, and incorporating daily exercise into your lifestyle are the steps that will put you on the road to real health and longevity

Image: Combining sugary drinks with protein found to accelerate the body’s storage of fat

By Rhonda Johansson by August 4, 2017

As if we needed another reason to change our diet. Scientists are now saying that washing down that cheeseburger with a cold soda changes the way your body burns fat. In analyzing the direct impact that sugary drinks have on body metabolism when paired with a high-protein meal, researchers observed an amplified effect in weight gain. Not only were these meals typically calorie-rich, but the combination also slowed down the fat-burning process all the while not adding anything to satiety. In essence, the typical American diet makes us fatter because we feel hungry easier while not burning anything off.

This small study, published in BMC Nutrition, concluded that around a third of the additional calories found in sugary drinks were not spent while reducing metabolism. This, the study’s authors said, “primed” the body to store more fat. The effect was particularly evident when the drinks were paired with a protein-rich meal. On average, metabolism was slowed by eight percent when a sugar-sweetened drink was taken with a meal that was 15 percent protein. This rate was further exacerbated when protein content was increased. Taking a 30 percent protein meal with a sugary drink, for example, decreased metabolism by 12.6 percent. The researchers also noted that while sugary drinks increased the amount of energy used to metabolize meals, the increase was not enough to even out the additional calories found in the drink.

Lead author of the study, Dr. Shanon Casperson, wrote on Science Daily, “We were surprised by the impact that the sugar-sweetened drinks had on metabolism when they were paired with higher-protein meals. This combination also increased study subjects’ desire to eat savory and salty foods for four hours after eating.”

These results are interesting, to say the least. Previous studies have implicated a higher protein intake to an increase in the body’s fat-burning abilities. However, this effect may become negligible when taken along with a sugary drink. (Related: These 15 sugary drinks are almost as bad as soda.)

For the purposes of this study, the researchers recruited 27 healthy-weight adults (13 male, 14 female) who were, on average, 23-year-olds. Participants were given special meals and placed in special isolated rooms called “room calorimeters”. The rooms were calibrated to measure the oxygen and carbon dioxide levels as well as the temperature and air pressure. These data would allow the researchers to determine how specific meals affected the participant’s metabolism, including how many calories they burned and how fat, protein, and carbohydrates were broken down.

Participants spent two 24-hour periods in these rooms. Each period began at 4 p.m., with dinner being served at 5 p.m. There was then a fasting period until breakfast the next morning.

During one of their stays in the room calorimeter, participants were served breakfast and lunch meals that contained 15 percent protein. Each meal was paired with a sugary drink sweetened either with sugar or artificial sweetener. If the sugar-drink was served at breakfast, the participant had the artificially sweetened beverage at lunch and vice versa.

Participants were observed for four hours after each meal.

During the other time that they stayed in the room, participants were served a breakfast-lunch combo with meals that contained 30 percent protein.

Consolidating the data, researchers said that the fat-burning ability of participants who took a sugary drink decreased by eight percent. Additionally, these same drinks added more calories to the meals without making the participants feel fuller for longer.

These findings “provide further insight into the potential role of sugar-sweetened drinks — the largest single source of sugar in the American diet — in weight gain and obesity,” Casperson concluded.

Image: Dean Foods just acquired Uncle Matt’s Organic… watch out for ingredient alteration and unethical business practices

By Isabelle Z.

Dean Foods announced in a press release that it has acquired organic juice company Uncle Matt’s Organic, prompting concerns about just how “organic” their beverages will remain moving forward.

According to the press release, Uncle Matt’s Organic is the oldest organic juice company in the U.S. Their offerings include juices such as orange, grapefruit, apple and lemonade, along with fruit-infused waters and probiotic-infused juices, and their products are popular among health-conscious consumers.

The Dean Foods press release says: “Uncle Matt’s Organic is committed to producing the highest quality juices, using only premium 100% organically grown fruit that is free from GMOs, synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.”

It’s a commendable stance, but how long will that continue to be the case? If Dean Foods Company’s track record when it comes to acquisitions is any indication, fans of Uncle Matt’s products had better stay on their toes.

When Dean Foods Company acquired the Silk brand soy milk, they engaged in some very deceptive practices that left a lot of consumers so angry that many continue to boycott them to this day. Silk’s soy milk had been made using organic soybeans until early 2009, and customers who sought organic products at that time knew this milk was a safe bet.

However, after taking over the brand, Dean essentially employed a “bait and switch” tactic that left a lot of consumers with a very bad taste in their mouths. They started to use conventionally grown soybeans rather than organic ones, but they continued to use the same bar codes on their products and only slightly shifted the wording on their label to make it say “natural” instead of “organic.” Many consumers believed it was still organic, not realizing that “natural” is not a word that is regulated and that any product can claim to be natural regardless of whether it has been sprayed with toxic pesticides, as many soybeans are.

Adding insult to injury, they kept selling it for the same price, which meant people were paying organic prices for toxin-laced milk.

The deception was so underhanded that even retailers didn’t realize what was happening at first, with watchdog groups calling out Target for misleading shoppers by continuing to advertise the product as “organic” even though it no longer was.

This was more than just a one-off incident. Dean Foods has long shown a lack of honesty when it comes to organic food. They are the parent company of Horizon Organic, whose milk was once the subject of a boycott for not being legitimately organic. Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, once called the company “the Enron of the food industry” on account of its lack of ethics. Dean also contributed more than $250,000 in an effort to defeat the GMO labeling initiative Prop 37 in California in 2012 – something that Uncle Matt’s, on the other hand, supported.

It’s hard to say whether Uncle Matt’s juices will pull a similar trick on the public. There are some positive signs, such as the fact that Uncle Matt’s will become a subsidiary of Dean Foods but will continue to operate from its current offices in Clermont, Florida.

In addition, the company’s founder, Matt McLean, will continue to lead the brand. According to Uncle Matt’s website, he became passionate about an organic way of life in 1995, which he said is akin to the way his grandfather and great-grandfather grew their fruit. He believes in making soil healthy to nurture trees that can defend themselves naturally against disease. One can only hope that he will be able to convince his higher-ups to adopt the same philosophy.

a repost: What Happened To My Body When I Didn’t Eat For 21 Days

Article posted on Collective-Evolution (click link for original)
By Alanna Ketler

I recently did the unthinkable – I stopped eating food altogether for 21 days, and you know what happened? I healed my body, gave my digestive system a much needed rest, cleared up my candida, passed some parasites, and got my cystic acne under control –and would you believe it? I am still here to tell the story.

I have been battling with what I had been diagnosed as having an issue of candida overgrowth– for almost two years, but now I question whether it may have just been a parasite all along. There are tons of illnesses out there that are commonly labeled as mystery illnesses because mainstream medicine has neither discovered a cause or a cure, leaving many people in the dark when it comes to healing.

When I first learned about the Master Fast System I felt that the idea of fasting resonated with something that could help me once and for all and I was excited about the idea of challenging myself, although the recommended 40 -108 days felt like a little bit too long for me. I decided to try out the fast, but customize it towards my needs and what I felt intuitively would help my body.

I did 21 days of the full on master fast system, which means only grape juice mixed with lemon, herbal tea and potent tinctures, daily enemas, a mixture psyllium husk powder, bentonite clay and activated charcoal mixed with grape juice and lemon this is known as plasma “pudding”and daily dry fasts (nothing at all in the system) of between 14 – 18 hours.

Won’t You Lose A Lot Of Weight?

Throughout the 21 days I lost a total of 15 pounds -a lot of which was just water weight. As you can see from the picture, the main area that shrunk was my stomach, but it’s because it was always so bloated and uncomfortable before. This fast has completely cleared up the bloating and swelling that was almost a constant in my life for 2 years. This is certainly what sweet relief feels like.

Isn’t Fasting Hard?

Yes. But does that mean that it’s not worth doing? No. Of course not eating for an extended period of time isn’t easy, but that isn’t because you’re hungry, it’s because of your mental addictions to food. It’s interesting because we feel we need to eat, but most of us don’t really realize just how addicted to food we really are because it is not only a HUGE part of our culture, but we need to eat to survive. Not until you go without food do these addictions become apparent.

Fasting is a way to not only clear out the body and give the digestive system a break, but it also is great for clearing out the mind. It’s amazing how clear the head is when there is nothing in the system, no stimulants or any other distractions. I found I became a lot more aware of my emotions as well. When something comes up, and you have no escape – in the form of food or anything else, you are forced to sit with it and feel it. That was a very interesting experience throughout this whole thing as well.

I realized that we have a lot of preconceived ideas about food, we believe that we need a certain amount to be healthy, but I strongly believe that if we just tune into our body, give it what it needs, and give our digestive system a break from time to time, we will be fine. The idea of stuffing our faces with 3 large meals a day seems absurd to me, and things like intermittent fasting actually make a lot more sense.

Is Fasting For You?

I strongly believe fasting is something everyone can benefit from. But if you are suffering from any digestive health issues, then you especially could benefit from fasting. There are certain ways to go about it, however, and it is important to do adequate research and choose a method that is suited towards your needs and works for you.

ED vs. EL-a repost: Contraceptive drugs are turning fish into transgenders

My loved ones and those who know me are shocked that I don’t eat any meat of any kind. “Not even fish?” They ask me. “Nope,” I respond. Definitely not after reading this.
If they knew this information, I guarantee they wouldn’t eat fish as well.
I take that back.
They’d still it eat! They’d pray to God before consuming the trash hoping that he (or she) will protect them from their ignorance.

Image: Confirmed: Contraceptive drugs are turning fish into transgenders

By Amy Goodrich

Despite the evidence suggesting that there are many possible dangers associated with birth control drugs, an estimated 12 million women in the United States take an oral contraceptive, commonly referred to as “the pill,” to prevent pregnancy.

While birth control pills are convenient and, for the most part, effective at preventing unwanted pregnancies, they are not only harming the human body, they are also having a severe impact on the environment. Due to pollution and overuse of chemicals and drugs, a mix of endocrine disruptors is entering rivers via toxic waste and rain water at an alarming rate.

Professor Charles Tyler, a leading eco-toxicologist from the University of Exeter in Britain, and colleagues discovered that chemicals found in contraceptives and common household products (including by-products of cleaning agents, plastics, and cosmetics) that are flushed down the drain are giving rise to transgender or intersex fish in British rivers.

Their data showed that one fifth (or 20 percent) of male river fish, coming from 50 different sites, were displaying more feminine traits and some were even producing eggs in their testicles. The team also reported that the intersex fish were less aggressive and had a lower sperm count. All these factors combined made them less competitive, reducing their chances to breed successfully. Furthermore, offspring of transgender fish can be more sensitive to the effects of toxic exposure.

The research identified more than 200 chemicals

Tyler recently gave a keynote speech on the topic of transgender fish at the 50th Anniversary Symposium of the Fisheries Society in the British Isles at Exeter University, which was held at the beginning of July.

Tyler’s key findings originate from a 2008 research projectRoach, Sex, and Gender-Bending Chemicals: The Feminization of Wild Fish in English Rivers — he was involved in. During the study, the team identified more than 200 chemicals in river water.

Next to estrogen-like drugs, known to mess up the endocrine or hormonal system, the researchers also discovered other drugs, such as antidepressants, which could alter the fish’s natural behavior. Antidepressants have been shown to reduce the natural shyness of some fish species, making them more vulnerable to predators. Furthermore, the team also noted that estrogen found in some plastics may affect the valves in the heart.

“It all depends how feminized they become. If they are moderately to severely feminized, they are compromised as individuals and they really struggle to pass on their genes,” Tyler said. “One thing scientists are becoming much, much more conscious of now … is wildlife populations are exposed to a combination of stresses,” he added.

RT reported on a similar study from 2010 where researchers found that more than 80 percent of male bass fish in the Potomac River in Washington DC exhibited female traits, including eggs in their testicles.

A call for stricter regulations

The chemicals causing these effects are often flushed down the toilet without giving a second thought. Chemicals in contraceptives, cleaning products, and other household products not only threaten our health but that of the environment too. Therefore, Tyler called for better regulations and a ban on certain chemicals.

“It’s blindingly obvious when you stick a poison out and it kills something. It’s an incredibly difficult challenge to understand sub-lethal effects and how these things affect behavior,” Tyler said. “If we get sufficient evidence indicating there’s a high likelihood of a population effect, perhaps we need to be more proactive about restricting … or banning these chemicals,” he added.

Food for Thought: The Most Important Lesson I’ve Learned from Gardening (it should be obvious from the picture)

plants-sunlight-energy.jpg

From the Melanin Man:

I have fallen in love with gardening and harvesting my own food, even if I only have a enough for food for a couple of days (lol!) It is a liberating experience to know that you have the ability to grow your own food. I have learned many life lessons from gardening…

Like the fact that deer, and unfortunately the offspring of moths, need to eat good, clean food as well.

The deer should be ever so happy I don’t own a shotgun and don’t eat meat anymore. Those damn cabbage worms should be equally grateful that I don’t subscribe to using pesticides and/or herbicides neither.

Yet the most important life lesson I have learned is can be considered common sense, borderline second-nature to all gardeners, but somewhat taken for granted by most of us common folk…

The importance of sunlight!

Duh, right? I know, I know. Nevertheless, please keep reading.

When I first embarked on starting my garden, I had a difficult time finding a plot of land that could receive a sufficient amount of sunlight to grow my crops. The house that we currently live in is heavily wooded. Luckily I was able to find a spot in the front yard near the street (smh lol!) From last spring to this spring and summer seasons, despite the inadequate amounts of sunlight, I have had varied degrees of success with growing and harvesting my crops, from green beans and black-eyed peas, to okra and some delicious kale. But when it has come to my watermelon patch and butternut squash/zucchini plants, I’ve mostly been shooting blanks.

I have not been able to grow one watermelon, whereas the very few butternut squash and zucchini crops I was able to produce, they were a bit undersized. I know was a little ambitious with these two crops, due to the fact that they need at least six to eight hours of consistent sunlight daily to produce properly. The entire garden itself may receive maybe four hours of consistent sunlight daily…at best!

I’ve noticed during my time of gardening the yellowing of the leaves on some of my crops, meaning a lack of water and/or lack of sunlight. I’ve also noticed a mildew fungal forming on my the leaves of my butternut squash plants in particular. After some research, I discovered the mildew fungal buildup was caused by high levels of humidity and, surprise surprise, the lack of sunlight!!

Everyone knows that sunlight is the most important ingredient to the production of crops, our food supply. But do we realize the same applies to the growth and development of HUE-man beings as well?

Unless you work in a occupation that requires you to work outdoors most of the time. But we shun those type of jobs, labeling them to “menial, demeaning, and beneath us.”

Our children get maybe an hour of outside time from P.E./recess (that’s if they haven’t been removed from the schedule already) or after school and on the weekends. That’s if they’re not too busy with homework or stuck in front of a TELL-LIES-VISION (or cellphone, tablet, etc.)  playing videos games and whatnot.

How much sunlight do the majority of people, particularly my Black Melanin-Dominant brothers and sistas, receive on a daily basis? In this day and age and paradigm, it’s safe to assume not that much. I can assure you it’s nowhere close to six to eight hours a day! I mean, do we even truly know how much sunlight we actually need daily?

That’s one thing animals in the wild don’t have to worry about, because they don’t have to maintain a certain lifestyle to feel comfortable. Our current Westernized lifestyles do not value the importance of sunlight whatsoever. And in my opinion, it explains the many various health ailments that hinder not only Black Melanin-Dominant people, but the world as a whole.

Contrary to popular belief, we are not that much different from plants. Think about it: Chlorophyll to plants is what melanin is to melanated individuals. In fact, chlorophyll is the melanin to plants.

Besides water, what else do plants really need to survive and thrive?

(**Sidenote: If you’re thinking fertilizer, realize that fertilizer and like-products are only nutrients (think elements on the Periodic Table) concocted in a lab or taken from an area that is rich in those nutrients. It is sold to consumers who  occupy land that is deficient in those nutrients. How is that possible, if at one point the majority of the soil on this planet was more than likely suitable to produce without supplementary means? MAN-ipulation perhaps?!)

Plants don’t need chicken or a hamburger to live. And just to get a little deep with you, nor do they need to eat fruits or vegetables either. But we’re a LONNGGGG way from that reality, ladies and gentlemen. A lot has to change in this environment for that paradigm to return.

Just something to think about, fam. Some food for thought.

Peace and Love to my melanated family,

The Melanin Man

ED vs. EL- repost: Why You Can Eat Bread In Europe But Not In The United States

Maybe you once struggled with joint and muscle pain, or perhaps chronic bloating or diarrhea. Perhaps you used to feel fatigued all the time. Everybody you knew was talking about going “gluten free,” and said how much better they felt when they did. But you hesitated—after all, bread is delicious! Could you really go the rest of your life without eating “real” pasta or pizza crusts or fresh-baked bread? You Googled it and found that all kinds of “reputable” sources said gluten sensitivity wasn’t real.

But still… could everyone you knew be wrong?

At last you just tried it, and you were amazed at how much better you felt without gluten as a staple in your diet. But that still didn’t totally make sense to you. Our ancestors have been eating wheat for thousands of years, after all!

Then maybe you went on vacation in Europe, and thought, what the heck… I’m going to eat what I want. It’s vacation! To your surprise, the Italian pasta and the French pastries caused you no problems whatsoever. You wondered if maybe you’d imagined gluten sensitivity after all… until you came back to the States and tried to maintain your new diet. Quickly, all the old symptoms returned.

So are you allergic to gluten, or aren’t you?

I’d heard this story many times from my patients before it happened to me personally. Bread is one of my favorite things, but I learned the hard way that eating gluten makes my gut very unhappy. It’s just not worth it. Yet while vacationing in Southern Ireland, the hearty brown bread served at nearly every meal looked too good to pass up. I ate it at every opportunity (it was vacation, after all)… and I felt just fine. But when I tried to eat the brown bread in Northern Ireland (part of the UK), I felt sick again. We crossed over to Southern Ireland again (part of Europe): no problems. Then in the States: sick again.

After investigating this upon my return, I found that there are three main possible causes of the disparity between gluten in the US (and the UK potentially), and gluten in Europe.

Differences in Gluten Abroad vs At Home

  • Wheat has higher gluten content in the States than in Europe. In the states, our wheat is roughly 15% gluten. In Europe, it’s more like 10%.
  • Conventional wheat in the US is often soaked in Round-Up prior to harvesting. Round-Up, the pesticide at the center of the GMO controversy, contains the active ingredient glyphosate. This acts as a pesticide by perforating the intestines of insects. While Monsanto, the parent company, claims that ingestion by humans is safe, the data suggests that it leads to inflammatory diseases as well as gluten sensitivity specifically. In Europe, while Round-Up is not completely prohibited, usage is far more restricted.
  • Cooking with buttermilk. I noticed many European bread recipes call for buttermilk. Buttermilk is made from introducing lactic acid bacteria to milk, which ferments the lactose into lactic acid. Lactic acid serves to break down the gluten protein, rendering the gluten content in the bread lower than it might be with other ingredients. This is the same reason why gluten sensitive individuals can often consume sourdough bread without a problem.

Can You Have Your Bread (and Eat It Too?)

If you are gluten sensitive (not Celiac) in the US, but you don’t want to move to Europe OR give up your bread, here are a few approaches to try.

  1. Choose 100% Sourdough. As mentioned here, sourdough pre-digests the gluten protein for you, so that most people who are gluten sensitive can eat sourdough bread without a problem. If you buy sourdough from the grocery, though, it’s likely been mixed with regular flour. The safest way to do it is to buy a sourdough starter and make your own.
  2. Choose sprouted grains. The sprouting process also breaks down the gluten proteins. It does not render the bread completely gluten free, but it does lower the gluten content enough that some people who are gluten intolerant can eat it without a problem. It is possible to sprout your own grains, or you can choose some of the sprouted brands already on the market.
  3. Choose organic wheat. The organic label means non-GMO, and no synthetic pesticides. This is a good way to avoid the Round-Up content in your wheat. While you’re at it, consider baking recipes that include buttermilk as well.

ED vs EL- repost: Were Those Who Roamed The Earth Before Us Nearly All Vegetarian?

*The title of this article was inspired by a guest post written for Scientific American

If you’re considering a vegan/vegetarian diet, modern day science is showing that it is completely natural, and that our bodies our totally capable of sustaining one. In fact, a lot of evidence is showing that a vegan/vegetarian diet (if done correctly) can have a tremendous amount of health benefits.

“Studies are confirming the health benefits of meat-free eating. Nowadays, plant-based eating is recognized as not only nutritionally sufficient but also as a way to reduce the risk for many chronic illnesses.” – Harvard Medical School (source)

You can find out more information about that (to start you off on your research) here.

Whether you subscribe to the theory of evolution, or creationism, a bit of both, or anything else it, is irrelevant to this article. This article does not go into these complexities as that is an entirely different subject, with lots of information, examination and factors to consider.

There is still much we don’t understand and, the connection between humans and what we refer to as our ‘ancestors’ isn’t solid enough to regard it as truth. Evolution is real, and can be seen throughout nature, but the human connection to it is still a mystery.

It’s no secret that human beings do not require meat to survive and live a healthy lifestyle. In fact, large amounts of research now suggests that a vegetarian diet is actually a healthier option as opposed to eating meat, or what is commonly referred to as the “Paleo Diet.” (source)(source)(source) Whether you believe this or not, you do not need meat to live a healthy lifestyle and get all of the nutrients you need.

The general gist of the Paleo Diet, also known as the “caveman diet,” the “Stone Age diet” or the “hunter-Gatherer diet” is based on the idea that if our ancestors who lived in the Palaeolithic era -a period lasting approximately 2.5 million years that ended about 10,000 years ago -ate it, then we should be doing the same.

What advocates of this diet -and those who often point towards our ancestors as justification for eating meat -fail to realize is that scientists and researchers have not been able to pinpoint with one hundred percent certainty what our ancestors really ate, and how often they ate it.

The belief that our ancestors exclusively consumed meat is completely false, and a great example of how many can believe a theory, or have a belief system and accept it as absolute fact when there is evidence to the contrary.

The majority of the food eaten by primates is plant-based, not animal, and there is research suggesting that it’s been that way for a long time. Our ancestors were clearly not the meat-eating caveman that they are so often portrayed to be, and even if they did eat meat, that doesn’t mean that we are genetically wired to do the same:

“It’s difficult to comment on ‘the best diet’ for modern humans because there have been and are so many different yet successful diets in our species. Because some hunter-getherer society obtained most of their dietary energy from wild animal fat and protein does not imply that this is the ideal diet for modern humans, nor does it imply that modern humans have genetic adaptations to such diets.”  – Katherine Milton, anthropologist at the University of California, Berkeley (source)

Today, there are a number of papers that’ve been published -in peer-reviewed scientific journals -that have analyzed the diets of a variety of ancient hominin species by looking at their fossilized teeth. These findings have shown that human ancestors ate far more plant material than what was previously suspected.

One study, for example, analyzed the diet of Neanderthals (who are closely related to human beings), a species that disappeared sometime between 20,000 and 24,000 years ago. Up until a few years ago it was believed that their diet consisted predominantly of meat, but this all changed when a large amount (and growing) body of evidence emerged suggesting that their diet also included a variety of plants. The researchers also offered evidence that these plants were also used for medicinal purposes. (source)

Another team of researchers published a study in the American Journal of Physical Anthropology which stated:

“We are suggesting that animal proteins would be less important overall and that’s particularly true for interpretations of Neolithic farmers. What that would mean is that they are having more of a balance of animal and plant protein in their diet, suggestive of a mixed existence strategy.” (source)

A Scientific American Blog Post

An article by Rob Dunn written for Scientific American by titled “Human Ancestors Were Nearly All Vegetarians“, goes into great detail about this issue, from an evolutionary perspective, brining up multiple details and points about how our guts might be evolved to stick to a vegetarian diet, with perhaps the occasional piece of meat here and there as a rare treat.

“So what do other living primates eat, the ones with guts mostly like ours, eat? The diets of nearly all monkeys and apes (except the leaf-eaters) are composed of fruits, nuts, leaves, insects, and sometimes the odd snack of a bird or a lizard (see more about chimpanzees). Most primates have the capacity for eating sugary fruit, the capacity for eating leaves and the capacity for eating meat. But meat is a rare treat, if eaten at all. Sure, chimpanzees sometimes kill and devour a baby monkey, but the proportion of the diet of the average chimpanzee composed of meat is small. And chimps eat more mammal meat than any of the other apes or any of the monkeys. The majority of the food consumed by primates today–and every indication is for the last thirty million years–is vegetable, not animal. Plants are what our apey and even earlier ancestors ate; they were our paleo diet for most of the last thirty million years during which our bodies, and our guts in particular, were evolving. In other words, there is very little evidence that our guts are terribly special and the job of a generalist primate gut is primarily to eat pieces of plants. We have special immune systems, special brains, even special hands, but our guts are ordinary and for tens of millions of years those ordinary guts have tended to be filled with fruit, leaves, and the occasional delicacy of a raw hummingbird.” (source)

He also goes on to show evidence for the fact that our bodies might not have really been designed to eat meat, but rather evolved and developed in order to eat and digest meat. It’s kind of like Milk, and why most of the world is lactose intolerant.

Every other species weans and then never drinks milk again for the rest of their lives, and because of that they don’t have an enzyme to break down the sugar in milk. But during human evolution, some humans experienced a mutation in the LTC gene, the lactase gene, these mutations allow us to process lactose as adults. With approximately 65- 75 percent percent of humans on the planet unable to properly process it, it is evidence enough that we are not doing what is natural and in accordance with our bodies. You can read more about this in detail HERE.

A Very Brief Dietary History of Human Ancestors & ‘Relatives’

“For a long time, primates stuck by the old restaurants –leaves and fruits –and by 3.5 million years ago, they started exploring new diet possibilities –tropical grasses and sedges –that grazing animals discovered a long time before, about 10 million years ago” – University of Utah geochemist Thure Cerling (source)

Since Cerling has published some of the most recent work in this field, I thought it would be a good idea to go with his very brief historical account of the history of our ancestral diet:

Previous research showed that 4.4 million years ago in Ethiopia, early human relative Ardipithecus ramidus (“Ardi”) ate mostly C3 leaves and fruits.

– About 4.2 million to 4 million years ago on the Kenyan side of the Turkana Basin, one of Cerling’s new studies shows that human ancestor Australopithecus anamensis ate at least 90 percent leaves and fruits – the same diet as modern chimps.

– By 3.4 million years ago in northeast Ethiopia’s Awash Basin, according to Wynn’s study, Australopithecus afarensis were eating significant amounts of C4 grasses and sedges: 22 percent on average, but with a wide range among individuals of anywhere from 0 percent to 69 percent grasses and sedges. The species also ate some succulent plants. Wynn says that switch “documents a transformational stage in our ecological history.” Many scientists previously believed A. afarensis had an ape-like C3 diet. It remains a mystery why A. afarensis expanded its menu to C4 grasses when its likely ancestor, A. anamensis, did not, although both inhabited savanna habitats.

– 3.4 million years ago in Turkana, human relative Kenyanthropus platyops had switched to a highly varied diet of both C3 trees and shrubs, and C4 grasses and sedges. The average was 40 percent grasses and sedges, but individuals varied widely, eating anywhere from 5 percent to 65 percent.

– About 2.7 million to 2.1 million years ago in southern Africa, hominins Australopithecus africanus and Paranthropus robustus ate tree and shrub foods, but also ate grasses and sedges and perhaps grazing animals. A africanus averaged 50 percent C4 grass-sedge-based foods, but individuals ranged from 0 to 80 percent. P. robustus averaged 30 percent grasses-sedges, but ranged from 20 percent to 50 percent.

– By 2 million to 1.7 million years ago in Turkana, early humans, Homo, ate a 35 percent grass-and-sedge diet – some possibly from meat of grazing animals –while another hominin, Paranthropus boisei, was eating 75 percent grass –more than any hominin, according to a 2011 study by Cerling. Paranthropus likely was vegetarian. Homo had a mixed diet that likely included meat or insects that had eaten grasses. A drier climate may have made Homo and Paranthropus more reliant on C4 grasses.

– By 1.4 million years ago in Turkana, Homo had increased the proportion of grass-based food to 55 percent.

– Some 10,000 years ago in Turkana, Homo sapiens’ teeth reveal a diet split 50-50 between C3 trees and shrubs and C4 plants and likely meat –almost identical to the ratio in modern North Americans.

Modern Day Food Industry

Again, it’s clear when we examine the diet of those who roamed the Earth before us, that a large portion of their diet was  vegetarian, and as outlined, possibly one hundred percent vegetarian for some individuals. One thing is for certain, it was not all predominately meat. So ask yourself, when did the notion of the “cave man” diet become such a backbone for people to use as justification for eating meat? Why do so many people believe that our ancestors ate so much meat, and that it’s all they ate?

The average North American diet today is one that involves ingesting what seems to be abnormal amounts of meat, on a daily basis. Even if our ancestors did consume meat, they did not consume it on a daily basis. In fact, there is evidence suggesting that those who lived in the “hunter gatherer” period went very long periods without eating at all. This – as pointed out by Mark Mattson, a professor of neuroscience at John Hopkins University – is precisely why our bodies have evolved to go long periods of time without food, and why intermittent fasting is now a healthy practice with a tremendous amounts of health benefits. (source) You can read more about fasting here.

As for the modern day meat industry, billions of animals are killed every year for food consumption alone. They are being raised to be slaughtered, injected with various chemicals, mistreated and more. They are also roaming in pesticides and fed GMO feed (which studies have shown to be detrimental to human and animal health, something we’ve written about in depth and provided evidence for on our website).

Our modern day food industry is one that is full of harmful substances, chemicals and other artificial ingredients that are making many wonder how we can even call it “food” anymore.

We still have a long way to go and lots of work to do if we want to become a healthy species again, something we are far from achieving.

The Health Science Says About A Meat Free Diet

Studies are confirming the health benefits of meat-free eating. Nowadays, plant-based eating is recognized as not only nutritionally sufficient but also as a way to reduce the risk for many chronic illnesses.” – Harvard Medical School (source)

The science regarding a meat free diet is also showing that human beings might not be build to eat it. For the sake of shortening this read, I’m going to link some previous heavily sourced articles that go into more detail.

modern day health propaganda

Health propaganda is pervasive. There are many misconceptions, omissions, distortions and lies surrounding the issue of health and medicine. Many are propagated by those who own Big Pharma (i.e. the Rockefellers and their ilk) who set the platform for Allopathy or Western Medicine to assume a monopoly and dominate healthcare (or more accurately “health management”) at the start of the 20th century (this article The Flexner Report: How John D. Rockefeller Used the AMA to Take Over Western Medicine reveals how they did it). Unfortunately, much of this disinformation is unwittingly propagated by well-meaning parents who want their children to be healthy but simply don’t know how to see through all this health propaganda. The result is a population which has been trained to look outside of itself for healing, to depend on Government and Big Pharma to take care of its health, and to unquestioningly accept the opinion of their (Western) Doctor. Meanwhile, epidemics of cancer, diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases (Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and dementia) rage throughout the US, Australia and many Western nations.

With that in mind, here is a collection of the top 10 pieces of modern day propaganda in the area of health, part 2 of a series (click here for part 1).

1. Your health is just dependent on chance and/or genetics. Gotcha! How many people have fallen for this one? The common themes behind both of these beliefs are fatalism and finding an excuse not to take responsibility. If you’re fated or destined to get disease, what’s the point trying to live healthfully? If you frequently succumb to bad luck with your health, why try? If you’re stuck with “bad genes” and that’s just the way it is, what’s the point? It is true that genetics indicate tendencies and proclivities, but those tendencies and proclivities still have to be activated. Consider the groundbreaking work of Dr. Bruce Lipton on epigenetics, which affects how genes are read by cells and subsequently how they produce proteins. This website gives a good introduction to the topic of epigenetics:

Epigenetics Controls Genes. Certain circumstances in life can cause genes to be silenced or expressed over time. In other words, they can be turned off (becoming dormant) or turned on (becoming active).

Epigenetics Is Everywhere. What you eat, where you live, who you interact with, when you sleep, how you exercise, even aging – all of these can eventually cause chemical modifications around the genes that will turn those genes on or off over time. Additionally, in certain diseases such as cancer or Alzheimer’s, various genes will be switched into the opposite state, away from the normal/healthy state.

Epigenetics Makes Us Unique. Even though we are all human, why do some of us have blonde hair or darker skin? Why do some of us hate the taste of mushrooms or eggplants? Why are some of us more sociable than others? The different combinations of genes that are turned on or off is what makes each one of us unique. Furthermore, there have been indications that some epigenetic changes can be inherited.

The point is this: you have control over which genes get expressed (activated) or suppressed (become dormant). In a sense, life is fragile. At the same time, you’re not just some powerless little speck of dust that has no choice or control over what happens – although it certainly suits those in authority for you to believe you are.

health propaganda magic pill Big Pharma

2. You can be always be cured by a magic pill from Big Pharma. False. This is a corollary from the first point above. If you fall into the trap of not taking responsibility for your health – and I mean all aspects (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual) – then you may tend to see the body like a machine or vehicle that needs repairing by a doctor-mechanic. You may also tend to believe the lie that Big Pharma has a magic pill for everything, that this magic pill can solve all of your problems (without any side effects) and that even if Big Pharma doesn’t have a magic pill now, they’ll have one in the future. However, one need only look at the shocking count of iatrogenic deaths (deaths caused by Western doctor and Western medical methods – around 225,000 per year according to Dr. Starfield in her 2000 study which makes it the #3 leading killer of Americans) to realize that Western Medicine is causing a lot of grave damage at the same time it treats people.

How can Big Pharma and Western Medicine ever create the “perfect cure” or the “cure for everything” when they are based on limited and materialistic scientific models that fail to understand the holographic and energetic nature of reality?

Besides, by buying and suppressing genuine cures, Big Pharma has shown that cares more about “treating” and “managing” disease (which is more profitable) than curing it (or healing it which is a whole other level).

3. Cancer is a terminal disease and isn’t curable. False! How many cancer survivors out there contradict his piece of modern day health propaganda? The number of effective and successful natural cancer remedies, cures and protocols is piling up. There are so many now: laetrile/amygdalin/vitamin B17 (usually from apricot kernels), DCA, cannabis oil, salvestrols, graviola/soursop, the maple bicarbonate treatment, intravenous injections of sodium bicarbonate (or baking soda) as pioneered by the Italian Dr. Simoncini, the Budwig diet, cesium chloride, the Gerson Therapy, the Hoxsey Cure, Essiac Tea, the anti-neoplaston treatment of Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski and others. CancerTutor.com is a great resource for those investigating it. Yes, getting cancer may be scary, but it’s important to know there are natural options outside of toxic chemotherapy and radiation where the cure is deadlier than the disease.

4. “Heart-Healthy Foods™” are good for your heart and your health. Not always – and sometimes they are atrocious for your heart! This kind of toxic health propaganda is particularly insidious, since it fools people into thinking they are doing something good for themselves when they purchase packages with the symbol on it. Heart-Healthy Food is a creation of the AHA (American Heart Association) who used the faulty research of Dr. Ancel Keys, the guy who rose to prominence in the 1950s (and was on the front cover of Time magazine) for promoting the false idea that saturated fats caused heart disease. For the background to this health propaganda, read the article Plastic Oils vs. Saturated Fats: Busting the Propaganda. AHA has dutifully spouted out the same line of disinformation ever since, claiming that because all saturated fats are “bad”, it’s therefore better to eat margarine instead of butter. This is equivalent to saying that hydrogenated and trans fats are healthier than natural fats from animal (e.g. dairy) and plant (coconut) sources. Yes, the AHA also advocates a variety of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and nuts and legumes, but its information has been skewed by the corporations funding it, who hawk “vegetable” oils (a deliberate misnomer which really means industrial seed oils).

5. Eating raw is bad, unhealthy and dangerous. Not true. The demonization of raw food makes sense when you consider that the forces running the world are pushing you away from natural, juicy and vibrant ways of eating and living to synthetic, dry and dead ones. When fear of a pathogen gets out of control, government authorities often respond with a sledgehammer where a fine tooth comb was needed. Look at how California is now required to pasteurize all their almonds by law. Yes, eating raw increases your chances (although still tiny) of picking up some harmful bacteria, but it also increases your probability (to a level of certainty) of getting more nutrition and vitality out of your food! The raw diet is not for everyone, however there is little doubt that introducing more raw food into your diet will increase your health.

6. Fasting is dangerous. False. There are many ways to fast, from doing intermittent fasting (an eating pattern where you have cycle between periods of fasting and eating throughout the day) to doing 3-day, 7-day, 10-day or even longer fasts. Some people do the Master Cleanse (consuming only a lemon juice-maple syrup-cayenne pepper drink), other people do a vegetable juice fast and still others do a water-only fast. Fasting is not for everyone, especially children or pregnant women. It is best to get guidance from others who have done it and to start slowly, but evidence shows that by giving your body a break from digestion, you can achieve many health benefits. You allow your body to repair and regenerate in a way it cannot do if it is digesting food all the time.

health propaganda useless supplements

7. Most supplements are great for your health. False. Many of them are made of synthetic vitamins, stuffed with fillers and even contain GMO ingredients. It is preferable to get all your nutritional needs straight from food, however if you are going to take supplements, use ones which are derived from wildcrafted or organic herbs, plants and other sources. Calcium supplements are especially dangerous since they are composed of ground up fossils and can lead to calcification. Lots of people suffer calcification in many areas of the body, e.g. the eye (cataracts), mouth (plaque), bones (arthritis), heart (heart attack) or brain (stroke). Calcium deposits obstruct the internal flow of energy, cause inflammation, shut down the pineal gland and can lead to cancer.

For more information on the stark differences between synthetic and natural vitamins, see the research of people like Dr. Theil.

8. Homeopathy is quackery and doesn’t work. False. More arrogance that comes from ignorance. Homeopathy is based on an entirely different (and deeper) understanding of reality that the purely rationalistic, materialistic Western Medicine which cannot bring itself to accept that we live in a holographic world where thought forms and energy are powerful forces that shape our lower physical reality.

Here’s how homeopathy works in a nutshell. There are 2 fundamental approaches to diseases. You can follow the Law of Contraries, where if someone has pain, you provide a substance that counteracts (acts opposite to) that pain. Alternatively, you can follow the Law of Similars, where you use a substance which would produce symptoms in a healthy person but actually cures those same symptoms in a sick person! Homeopathy works using the latter law. It takes substances that would be poisons, then shakes and dilutes, shakes and dilutes, until the remaining water or pellet contains only a fraction or imprint of the poison – enough when ingested that it stimulates the body to correct the imbalance. It also takes substances that are healthy and non-toxic and dilutes them in the same way.

Homeopathy recognizes the body is the ultimate healer; it is designed to stimulate the body’s healing mechanisms, rather than suppress symptoms or provide temporary pain relief like Allopathy. In 1890 in the US (before the Flexner Report), around 25% of doctors were homeopathic, including John D. Rockefeller‘s personal doctor and the doctors of the British Royal Family.

As David Icke writes in the Phantom Self (see my review of the book here):

“Homeopathy is a healing technique ridiculed by Mainstream Everything for the same reason – ignorance … Homeopathy is based on the fact that everything is information whether it’s a plant or a drop of water … The Aerospace Institute in Stuttgart, Germany, is [a] center for information in water research … they put a flower in a tank of water in one experiment and when it was removed they photographed the droplets. What they discovered confirmed two major truths about reality. One was once again the holographic principle with information of the whole flower found in every droplet. The second was that even when the ‘physical’ flower was removed the information from the flower was retained in the water. I have but one thing to say … homeopathy.”

health propaganda homeopathy works

9. FDA approved drugs are safe. Not even close to being true. The FDA has long been bought off by Big Pharma and functions as its lapdog, not its guard dog. Did you know that, according to this recent Natural News article, a staggering 33% or one third of FDA approved drugs turn out later to have serious side effects and health problems – so serious that they are pulled off the market? How could anyone trust the FDA’s approval process with failure rates like that?

10. Vaccines are safe. No way! Vaccines are among the chief weapons of modern day health propaganda, and there are movements afoot all over the world to make them mandatory, which is nothing less than medical tyranny or medical fascism. Year after year, the victims of vaccine damage pile up, whether it be people suffering from fever, infertility, paralysis, brain damage and death. In the US, Big Pharma achieved the deft legal and political maneuver of having a law passed that exempts them from being sued for vaccine damage in normal courts. Meanwhile, the system that has been set up (Vaccine Injury Compensation Program [VICP]) is a quasi-court that favors the vaccine manufacturers. To quote from another Natural News article,

“… the government has paid out over $3 billion in awards and legal fees for families and persons that have been affected by vaccine damage between the years of 1989 and 2015. In total, 3,937 cases have resulted in the awarding of financial compensation via the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP). And those are just the ones who managed to convince the court that a vaccine damaged their child or themselves. Nearly 10,000 people have had their cases dismissed by the court …

Robert Moxley, a former vaccine attorney, writes, “From the passing of the legislation in 1986, the process has been rigged, one major step at a time, in favor of the vaccine-industrial complex.” … the VICP protects the vaccine industry, rather than the humans harmed by their inoculations … “The injuries continue, and awards continue to be made, practically in secret,” he states … the cases of vaccine injury continued to pile up, the government, rather than hold manufacturers accountable, chose to revise their standards for claims regarding vaccine injuries — making it all the more difficult for claims to pass through the system.”

Conclusion: Health Propaganda

As with geopolitics (part 1 of this series), there is a lot of modern day health propaganda around. In this case, what you don’t know can kill you. It is vitally important to educate yourself about health, nutrition, natural cures, remedies, medicines and protocols, the strengths and weaknesses of different medical systems and the nature of Big Pharma. Still more important is your mindset; yes it’s great to cut through the health propaganda, but best of all is to take full responsibility for your state of health. Stay tuned for part 3.
